The New Orleans Feetwarmers

In 1932, Tommy Ladnier and Sidney Bechet formed The New Orleans Feetwarmers. This was, despite the name, more of a early swing band than a New Orleans styled band. Tommy Ladnier now had refined and simplified his playing but he still had a tremendous force and a fierce rhythmic attack. Sweetie Dear was the first tune recorded on September 15, 1932 and displays Tommy Ladnier and Sidney Bechet in a furious interplay. Unfortunately, Sidney Bechet stepped closer to the microphone in the remaining numbers recorded that day, causing Tommy Ladnier to be sound-wise pushed back
